CK is a technique that uses radiofrequency (RF) strength to cause a change in the shape of the cornea. The cornea following CK is steeper in the middle than before, hence it permits for it to act like a magnifier. The exotic change in the configuration of the cornea can improve the near vision with constrained effect on the distance.
The drawback of CK is that in some persons, the effect can regress over months or years.
Lens: The natural lens inside the ey. It is located behind the iris. With age the lens becomes opaque; a condition normally called cataract. The natural lens is sometimes replaced by a artificial one for the purpose of permanently adjusting the focusing pressure of the attention.
Presented by Dr. Antoine Garabet, Ophthalmologist
Pupil: A hole in the iris needed to allow diminished to travel into the attention and transmit images. The
pupil is the window into the attention. The natural dimension of the pupil varies from one person to an alternate. Individuals with bigger pupils are more like;y to have visual side effects following refractive procedures.
CK improves the near vision by reducing the prescription needed for reading but no longer unavoidably eliminating it. This permits for patients to become more self reliant with tasks requiring near vision.
CK and the Surgical Correction of Presbyopia
Retina: A skinny layer of tissue in the back of the attention. It acts as a screen to received focused images projected from the outdoor and trasmit them as signal to the brain for interpretation.
Iris: The colored component of the attention. It is a round colored tissue placed in the internal chamber of the attention behind the cornea.
CK is an FDA-approved technology designed to lessen patients dependence on reading glasses. This is chiefly designed for persons over the age of 45 that have typical vision at the distance, but risky vision up close. These persons undergo from an age related condition called Presbyopia.
